The genuine mfemms.exe file is a software component of McAfee Anti-virus by McAfee.
McAfee Anti-virus is a security program that protects computers from viruses, trojans, malware, adware, rootkits, and other malicious programs. Mfemms.exe runs the McAfee Management Service, a shared process that is evoked and used by several McAfee products. This is not a critical Windows component and should be removed if known to cause problems.
