The genuine mfefire.exe file is a software component of SYSCORE by McAfee LLC.
"Mfefire.exe" is McAfee LLC's "Firewall Core Service", part of the "SystemCore" common to multiple McAfee For Enterprise products, including VirusScan Enterprise. It is a Windows service installed by Endpoint Security in "C:\Program Files\Common Files\McAfee\SystemCore". It loads when the computer starts and starts the McAfee Firewall. The Windows Service Control Manager, (SCM or "services.exe") controls it and the McAfee Personal Firewall Service and Anti-Spam Service are dependent upon it. After uninstalling McAfee software, you may find "mfefire.exe" is still running because malware often tries to kill AV software and McAfee has protected it against that.
